An illegal immigrant has just been accused of killing an American who was the mother of five children. 

The immigrant, according to Fox News, is 23-year-old Victor Martinez-Hernandez. He illegally entered America in February 2023, coming from El Salvadore.

It turns out that this may not have been Martinez-Hernandez's first murder.

If true, this would provide evidence to the claim that former President Donald Trump is making, that the illegal immigrants who have been entering the United States oftentimes have violent criminal backgrounds.

Here's what we know:

The woman whom Martinez-Hernandez allegedly murdered is Rachel Morin, a Maryland mother of five.

Fox reports:

Morin, 37, was reported missing in August by her boyfriend, who said she never returned after going out for a run on the Ma & Pa Trail, a pedestrian trail in Bel Air, a quiet and typically safe town about 28 miles northeast of Baltimore, Aug. 5, 2023. Her body was found on a trail the following day . . .

Police managed to use DNA to link Martinez-Hernandez. The DNA also linked Martinez-Hernandez to a home invasion in Los Angeles.

Fox reports:

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) collected a hat left behind at the scene of the March 2023 home invasion that turned violent, leaving multiple people, including minor children, injured. The suspect allegedly broke into the home in the middle of the night and assaulted the family inside before he was chased out. Surveillance video footage captured the man leaving, shirtless, through the front door.

Police released sketches of the suspect back in February. But, they were not able to locate Martinez-Hernandez until just recently.

The latest

On Saturday, Harford County Sheriff Jeffery Gahler provided an update on the murder of Rachel Morin.

"Five hours after meeting with [Morin's] family and just before midnight our time, police in Tulsa, Oklahoma assisted by our federal partners, located and arrested Rachel's murderer: Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez," Gahler said.

Hernandez, upon being arrested, was charged with both first-degree murder and first-degree rape.

Gahler further revealed, "It is my understanding that this suspect, this monster, fled to the United States illegally after committing the brutal murder of a young woman in El Salvador a month earlier, in January of 2023."

Then, he came to America, illegally, in February 2023, and allegedly committed the home invasion in March 2023 and the murder of Morin in August 2023. As Gahler put it:

Victor Hernandez did not come to this country to make a better life for him or his family. He came here to escape the crimes he committed in El Salvador. He came here to murder Rachel and God-willing, no one else.
