Impeachment Articles Against Mayorkas Sent To Senate

America's House of Representatives said they were going to do it, and on Tuesday, April 16, they did it.

ABC News is reporting that as promised, America's House of Representatives officially transmitted articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the Senate.

The House impeachment managers, as selected by Republican leadership, walked the two articles through the Capitol led by the House clerk and sergeant-at-arms.

Charges against Mayorkas were then read aloud from the Senate dais by House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green.

Second Cabinet Secretary to be impeached

This is by no means an everyday occurrence, Mayorkas is only the second Cabinet secretary to be impeached in American history.

The first was William Belknap, a former secretary of war, way back in 1876.

House Republicans voted to impeach Mayorkas back in February over what they described as a "failure to enforce border laws amid a surge in migrants arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border."

Controversial vote

As expected, it was an extremely close and controversial vote.

It failed once, and even when it passed, it was still opposed by three Republicans and ALL Democrats.

The impeachment articles are based upon the fact that Mayorkas has committed a "breach of public trust," allegations he's called "baseless."

The House impeachment managers working on this situation include Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul and Reps. Andy Biggs, Ben Cline, Andrew Garbarino, Michael Guest, Harriet Hageman, Clay Higgins, Laurel Lee, August Pfluger and Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Top Republicans demanding COMPLETE Senate trial

"It would be beneath the Senate's dignity to shrug off our clear responsibility and fail to give the charges we'll hear today the thorough consideration they deserve," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said. "I'll strenuously oppose the effort to table the articles of impeachment and avoid looking at the Biden administration border crisis squarely in the face."

There is no proof that Republicans are going to get their way in terms of a final result with this case, but at least they have a little bit of momentum going.

For far too long, the liberal elite at the top of America's government have acted as a ruling class over the rest of us.

Starting with Republicans in the government, hopefully we're able to break down the castle the liberal elite sit in soon enough.
