Fans of the classic sitcom "Friends" were left saddened late last month after star Matthew Perry was found dead in his home.

Actress Jennifer Anniston was one of Perry's co-stars, and friends fear that his passing has had a catastrophic effect on her.

Perry's death came less than a year after Aniston's father passed away

That's according to Page Six, which spoke to a source said to be close with Aniston. The individual said that of the surviving "Friends" cast, "Jen and Courteney [Cox] are reeling the most, and Jen is probably the one who is struggling most acutely."

"It’s a second massive loss in less than a year, with the one-year anniversary of her dad’s death just around the corner," the source continued.

The source stressed that Aniston "still hasn’t fully regained her footing from that, and now this has just completely knocked her off her feet."

"She is trying to regroup and recover but it’s been a completely devastating blow," the unnamed source went on to explain.

Actress calls her father "one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew"

Page Six noted that Aniston announced the death of her father, 89-year-old former "Days of Our Lives" star John Aniston, in an Instagram post.

"Sweet papa…⁣ John Anthony Aniston. ⁣You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew," the actress wrote alongside a childhood photograph of the two together.

"I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace - and without pain. And on 11/11 no less!" Anniston stressed.

"You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now. I’ll love you till the end of time," the actress concluded.

Anniston also told The Wall Street Journal that she feels "closer to him now than I did almost when he was alive" and remarked that it seems as if her father is "everywhere."

Perry once had a crush on Anniston

Page Six recalled how Perry and Aniston were known to be close friends, with the former acknowledging in 2022 that she confronted him two decades ago over his substance abuse issues.

What's more, Perry revealed in his memoir how he had a crush on Aniston years before they began working together on "Friends," leading him to ask her out on a date.

"She declined (which made it very difficult to actually go out with her), but said that she’d love to be friends with me, and I compounded the compound by blurting, 'We can’t be friends!'" he stated.
