Mega-popular podcast host Joe Rogan, who has a history of leaning toward the right on a majority of issues, shocked and stunned a large portion of his fans this week.

According to Newsweek, Rogan reportedly endorsed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during a recent episode of his Joe Rogan Experience podcast, sending shockwaves through the MAGA community.

The announcement was so massive that it even earned the approval of Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign, who believed Rogan going for Kennedy would only stand to benefit their side.

However, controversy quickly erupted in the wake of the so-called "endorsement," and Rogan himself, and former President Donald Trump reacted to the news.

What's going on?

On Thursday, while talking about the presidential candidates, Rogan seemingly made it clear that he's a Kennedy guy, saying he's "the only one to make sense to me."

"I am a fan. He's the only one to make sense to me. He's the only one that doesn't attack people. He attacks actions and ideas, but he's much more reasonable and intelligent," Rogan said.

As many figured, his words clearly sounded as if it was an endorsement, which triggered an avalanche of responses from Trump supporters across social media, and a response from the former president himself.

Trump, on his Truth Social platform, wrote, "It will be interesting to see how loudly Joe Rogan gets BOOED the next time he enters the UFC Ring??? MAGA2024"

Many of Trump's top surrogates and supporters on social media blasted the popular podcast host, especially since many of his stances and views skew solidly to the right.

The backlash reached such high levels that Rogan took to social media to respond in an attempt to clear the air with his nearly 15 million listeners.

Rogan responds

The podcaster and former UFC announcer made it clear in a statement that what he said about Kennedy was not, in fact, an endorsement.

"For the record, this isn’t an endorsement. This is me saying that I like RFKjr as a person, and I really appreciate the way he discusses things with civility and intelligence. I think we could use more of that in this world," Rogan said.

He went on to praise Trump's reaction to nearly being killed at a Pennsylvania rally last month.

"I also think Trump raising his fist and saying 'fight!' after getting shot is one of the most American f***ing things of all time. I’m not the guy to get political information from," Rogan wrote on his X account.
