Jon Stewart criticizes Democrats - including Clinton - for hypocrisy

Jon Stewart, the comedian, is surprisingly calling out some big-name Democrats for their hypocrisy.

This includes, according to Fox News, former President Bill Clinton and U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

The criticism comes after both men participated in the recently-held Democratic National Convention, at which Vice President Kamala Harris was officially named the Democratic Party's 2024 presidential nominee.

Both Clinton and Sanders spoke at the event in support of a Harris presidency.

Pure hypocrisy

Stewart offered his criticism in a recent broadcast of The Daily Show.

There, he said:

At their convention, they [Democrats] had union leaders and C.E.O.s. They had Democratic Party icons and lifelong Republicans. They had a guy yelling, "Screw the billionaires!" followed immediately by a very happy billionaire.

While Stewart was saying all of this, he put up a picture of Sanders - the guy who was yelling "screw the billionaires" - followed by a picture of Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker - the "very happy billionaire."

Stewart did have some good things to say about the convention. For example, he said:

But credit where credit is due: the Democrats, on short notice, exploited their newfound momentum and enthusiasm with a display of the breadth and width of this diverse, often contradictory party of Roosevelt

But, Stewart, overall, continued with the criticism.

Rules for thee, but not for me

Highlighting the Democrat hypocrisy, Stewart said, "It's all okay if it’s our billionaire. I don’t like billionaires, but he’s all right.’"

Celeb Tattler further reports:

Stewart also added an extra layer by noting that Democrats criticized Yale Law grad JD Vance, while Hillary Clinton and Amy Klobuchar are part of a more comprehensive contingent of Yale grads in their ranks; he also matched up Harris — whose prosecutorial career included jailing se-ual predators — with Bill Clinton.

This certainly is a stark contrast from most television coverage of the convention.

Fox provides multiple examples of how "media figures [have] gushed over Harris and DNC speakers this past week." The outlet reports:

MSNBC Host Alex Wagner, one of many media figures with direct ties to the Democratic Party as the wife of former Obama White House chef Sam Kass, proclaimed on Tuesday that Trump and his "White patriarchy" MAGA supporters were scared of the "multicultural" future represented by former President Obama and Kamala Harris.

The Washington Examiner reports that the mainstream media has been giving Harris 84% positive coverage while giving former President Donald Trump 89% negative coverage. This tells one everything that one needs to know about the mainstream media.
