Former President Barack Obama and rapper Kanye West have had an acrimonious relationship ever since the former president denounced West as "a jackass" in 2009.

That relationship isn't likely to improve in the wake of remarks West recently made about a member of Obama's family.

West expresses sexual interest in former First Lady Michelle Obama

According to the Hindustan Times, West expressed sexual interest in former First Lady Michelle Obama during an interview last week with "The Download" podcast host Justin Laboy.

"Gotta f--k the president's wife," West said of the former first lady, a statement which reportedly sent both Laboy and his guest into "fits of laughter."

The Times noted that some social media users joked that former President Obama may want to collaborate with rapper and fellow West-critic Drake on a musical response.

Blavity reported in 2022 that West lashed out at Mr. Obama during a controversial interview with online personality Alex Jones, complaining that he "was not the first Black president" but instead "another Jewish president."

Obama repeated "jackass" comment in 2020, mocked West's political ambition

The interview also featured a masked West proclaiming his love for German dictator Adolf Hitler and denying that six million Jews died in the Holocaust.

For his part, Obama took aim at West during the 2020 election, with Essence magazine quoting the former president as again repeating his "jackass" comment from 11 years earlier, likely in response to West's support for then-President Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, Newsweek recalled how Obama sarcastically gave West some political advice in 2015 after the music star announced at the MTV Video Music Awards that he might launch a White House run.

"A lot of people have lost their congressional seats saying stuff like this"

"You may have heard of this, Kanye is thinking about running for Speaker of the House. It couldn't get any stranger," Obama declared.

"But in case Kanye is serious about this whole POTUS thing—or as he calls it 'peezy' [West's nickname is Yeezy]—I do have advice for him," the then-president continued.

"Second—this is a second important tip—saying you have a beautiful, dark, twisted fantasy, that's what's known as off-message," he jokingly asserted.

"You can't say things like that. A lot of people have lost their congressional seats saying stuff like this," Obama went on to point out.

" A free people [claim] their rights, as derived from the laws of nature."
