Karine Jean-Pierre caught lying about support for Hunter Biden pardon

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was recently caught in another falsehood.

This time, the falsehood, according to Just the News, had to do with whether or not Americans support President Joe Biden's "blanket" pardon of his, Hunter Biden.

The poll, as we will see, suggests that Americans do not support it. Jean-Pierre, however, tried to claim otherwise.

In addition to this, Jean-Pierre has been facing a backlash for all of those time, in recent months, when she claimed that Biden and the White House would not pardon Hunter.

Jean-Pierre does it again

Fox News puts this whole situation into context, explaining:

President Biden issued a sweeping pardon for Hunter Biden on Sunday after he had repeatedly said he would not do so. The first son had been convicted in two separate federal cases earlier this year. He pled guilty to federal tax charges in September, and was convicted of three felony gun charges in June after lying on a mandatory gun purchase form by saying he was not illegally using or addicted to drugs.

During White House press briefings, Jean-Pierre has been facing the heat from reporters for this decision, and it was in defending Biden and the White House that she tried to claim that Americans support the pardon.

Jean-Pierre said:

I think it's important to note here, as you're asking me these questions — important questions to ask — that there was a poll, a U.S. Gov [sic] poll that came out that, some of you all reported on it. And it said 64% of the American people agree with the pardon — 64% of the American people. So, we get a sense of where the American people are on this. Obviously, it's one poll, but it gives you a little bit of insight. Sixty-four percent is nothing to sneeze at

She doubled down on this statement a bit later.

"I called out the U.S. Gov [sic]. poll where 64% of Americans, that's not a small number, agree with the president's decision to pardon his son," she said.

That's simply false

Jean-Pierre got both things wrong: she got wrong where the poll came from and what the poll's results were.

"The poll was from YouGov, not U.S. Gov, which does not exist," Fox reports.

You can find the poll for yourself here. What is showed was that 50% of Americans opposed the pardon.

Fox writes:

But according to the poll, it was 64% of Democrats who supported the pardon. Of the American people, only 34% "strongly" or "somewhat" approved of the pardon, while 50% of Americans either "strongly" or "somewhat" disapproved.

What else would we expect from the Biden administration at this point? It would be stranger if they didn't lie.
