Lottie Moss, the half-sister of Kate Moss, revealed that she recently overdosed on Ozempic.

She made the revelation in an Instagram message that she posted last week.

Take a look:

Here is what happened:

In her message, Moss revealed her "Ozempic story."

"One really, really big fad that’s going on right now is Ozempic, and I’m not going to lie to you guys, I definitely tried it. I tell you, it was the worst decision I ever made," she began.

Moss went on to explain why she feels that others should stay away from this drug.

"I took it for two weeks and I’ve never felt so sick in my life. It’s not like you can stop taking it, it’s not like a pill or something that you just don’t take when you wake up in the morning, like, it’s in your system," Moss said.

She goes on to reveal that she ended up having to go to the emergency room after getting so dehydrated that she ended up having a seizure. Moss said:

I felt so sick one day, I said to my friend, ‘I can’t keep any water down. I can’t keep any food down, no liquids, nothing. I need to go to the hospital. I feel really sick . . . As soon as I get into the room where I get seen by another nurse, I literally had a seizure from how dehydrated I was, which, honestly was the scariest thing that’s ever happened to me in my life.

Background

For those unfamiliar with Ozempic, Drugs.com provides an overview.

Per the outlet:

Ozempic (generic name: semaglutide) is medication used alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes. Ozempic is not used to treat type 1 diabetes. You may use Ozempic in addition to other diabetes medications such as metformin or insulin.

What it is also used for, in the celebrity world and elsewhere, is weight loss. It is not approved for weight loss, however, by the Food and Drug Administration, which would suggest that the drug is not without risks.

"The most common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and constipation," according to Drugs.com. But, more serious side effects are possible as well, as suggested by what happened to Lottie Moss, among others.

It is certainly something to bear in mind if one is considering using the drug for weight loss purposes.
