In a presidential election filled with vicious rhetoric, Democratic governor Andy Beshear is managing to grab attention with an outrageous comment about Republican J.D. Vance.

During an interview with MSNBC, the Kentucky governor Vance should "go through" pregnancy from rape. This was Beshear's sick way of driving his party's talking points on abortion.

"What the hell is this? Why is @AndyBeshearKY wishing that a member of my family would get raped?!? What a disgusting person," Vance responded on X.

Sick rhetoric towards Vance

Beshear had been floated as one of Kamala Harris' potential VP picks. She ended up choosing Minnesota governor Tim Walz, who helped spread a false, salacious rumor about Vance and a couch.

During an interview Tuesday, Beshear claimed Republicans use "fear tactics" to characterize Democrats as supporting late-term abortion. Beshear simultaneously claimed Republicans support "extreme" abortion bans, accusing Vance of downplaying pregnancy through rape.

Beshear then suggested Vance should experience what it's like for a loved one to be raped.

"JD Vance calls pregnancy resulting from rape inconvenient,” Beshear said on Morning Joe. "Inconvenience is traffic. Make him go through this."

“It is someone being violated, someone being harmed, and then telling them that they don't have options after that,” Beshear continued “That fails any tests of decency of humanity.”

No apologies

In a 2021 interview, Vance said babies resulting from rape or incest shouldn't be viewed as "inconvenient" and therefore disposable.

“It’s not whether a woman should be forced to bring a child to term, it’s whether a child should be allowed to live, even though the circumstances of that child’s birth are somehow inconvenient or a problem to the society. The question really, to me, is about the baby,” he said at the time.

Vance has since moderated his views, in line with Donald Trump, who supports exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother.

Still, Democrats are determined to keep fearmongering over Republicans' "extreme" abortion agenda, as Democrats try to deflect from the abysmal Biden-Harris record on immigration and the economy.

When confronted over his unhinged comments, Beshear dismissed the backlash.

"Obviously, I don’t wish anybody harm, nor would I ever, but what this is about, is JD Vance is trying to make himself the victim," Beshear said.

This must be more of that "decency" Democrats have bragged so much about.
