Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh had a close call three years ago when a man was arrested outside his home with a gun and other weapons.

The man-made headlines once again this week after admitting that he had planned to assassinate Kavanaugh.

Assassination plan was in response to abortion ruling

According to Just the News, lawyers for Nicholas Roske told U.S. District Court Judge Deborah Boardman on Monday that their client "wishes to plead guilty to the one-count Indictment pending against him."

Roske had intended to kill the Trump-appointed justice in order to "give his life a purpose" after America's highest judicial body found there is no constitutional right to abortion.

The California resident was also motivated by outrage over a school shooting in Uvalde, Texas which claimed the lives of 21 victims.

A Department of Justice (DOJ) press release explained that Roske was found to be in possession of a "tactical knife, a pistol with two magazines and ammunition, pepper spray, zip ties, a hammer, screwdriver, nail punch, crowbar, pistol light, [and] duct tape" at the time of his arrest.

Sister of Supreme Court justice faced bomb threat

Just the News noted how Roske had been scheduled to go on trial later this summer and faces the possibility of serving life behind bars.

Roske's guilty plea came just weeks after the sister of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barret was targeted with a bomb threat.

Fox Carolina News reported that police in Charleston, South Carolina responded to the home of Amanda Coney Williams at around 9:30 a.m. on March 10.

Williams' husband, David Williams, told officers that he had received an email with detailed information concerning an explosive device and also alluded to recent events in the Middle East.

"Using a 1x8-inch threaded galvanized pipe, end caps, a kitchen timer, some wires, metal clips and homemade black powder, I've constructed a pipe bomb which I recently placed in Amy Coney Barrett's sister's mailbox at her home in Charleston, SC. The device's detonation will be triggered as soon as the mailbox is next opened. Free Palestine!" it read.

Pro-abortion group has attempted to intimidate Justice Barrett

Fox Carolina explained that while fire and EMS personnel were dispatched to the residence, an inspection of the mailbox revealed no explosive device.

Justice Barrett has had to contend with attempts at intimidation since she joined with her conservative colleagues in overturning Roe v. Wade.

In one instance, Fox News reported that the militant pro-abortion group Ruth Sent Us publicized details concerning Barrett's personal schedule along with the school her children attend.
