Former First Lady Melania Trump received a sympathetic telephone call from her predecessor over the summer after her husband was wounded in an assassination attempt.

Yet in a recently released interview, she questioned whether First Lady Jill Biden's sentiments were sincere.

Mrs. Biden called the president-elect "evil" days before shooting

According to the New York Post, Mrs. Trump voiced her suspicions while speaking with the French publican Paris Match this past Sunday.

"I do question, however, whether Jill's concern was genuine, as a few days prior she referred to my husband as 'evil' and a 'liar'," the former first lady recalled.

"It was obvious that the onslaught of rhetoric from Democrat leaders and the mainstream media was so deeply embedded in our nation's consciousness it prompted an attempt to assassinate Donald," she continued.

The former first lady also recalled how her husband's political opponents had spent years railing against him for being 'a threat to democracy.'"

"People today are so desensitized they actually joke about killing a former U.S. president," Mrs. Trump pointed out. "It is undeniable that this type of speech created a toxic political environment."

Video shows awkward moment between Biden and vice president

Mrs. Trump isn't the only person who the first lady may have issues with, as a viral video clip seemed to show an awkward moment between her and Vice President Kamala Harris.

The footage shows Mrs. Biden and Harris attending a Veterans Day ceremony being held at Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday.

"At a Veteran’s Day commemoration event in the capital, a stone[d] face Jill Biden and Kamala Harris sit with a distance between one another," independent journalist Andy Ngo wrote in a social media post.

Former Trump campaign staffer: "Jill Biden hates Kamala Harris's guts"

"Harris supporters have been blaming President Biden (in addition to racism, white supremacy, fascism and misogyny) for her losing the election," Ngo added.

Ngo was not alone in highlighting the apparent tension between Harris and Mrs. Biden, as other commentators did so as well.

Another was former Trump campaign staffer Steve Cortes, who wrote, "It's safe to say that Jill Biden hates Kamala Harris's guts."
