First Lady Melania Trump has proven once again that speaking multiple languages can come in handy, especially during times of great disaster.

According to the Daily Mail, that was evidenced recently when she and her husband, President Donald Trump, visited areas affected by the California wildfires and spoke to some survivors in her native language. 

A clip of the first lady speaking with a survivor in her native language quickly went viral across social media.

The 30-second clip had already garnered millions of views within a short amount of time. The first lady was praised heavily by President Trump's followers for comforting the victim of the Palisades fire.

What happened?

At last count, it was reported that Melania Trump speaks six languages, which include Italian, French, German, English, Serbian, and her native tongue, Slovenian.

The Daily Mail noted:

A commenter translated their exchange, revealing the woman introduced herself in Serbian, mentioning she had lived in California since childhood.

Melania asked about her family, and the woman replied, mixing Serbian and Slovenian, that she had two sons.

Melania was with her husband touring the areas ravaged by the L.A. wildfires. She and President Trump, along with California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) toured the area by air via Marine One prior to landing and speaking to people on the ground.

President Trump also went viral on social media over an exchange he had with L.A. Mayor Karen Bass, during which he publicly called her out over the handling of the aftermath of the fires.

The president has also sharply criticized Gov. Newsom for allowing the conditions that ultimately contributed to the large, deadly fires.

Social media reacts

Melania Trump was widely praised across social media for comforting the wildfire survivors in their native tongues.

"Serbo-Croatian is only one of many languages Melania knows. I don't think any other First Lady has been so polylingual," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "I’ve never seen a First Lady accompany the President to every meeting, every visit, and every announcement. It’s absolutely incredible!!! We know Melania is a very special woman who is also leading this show!!! I love seeing her right beside him at every moment!"

While the moment was wonderful, it shouldn't come as a surprise to Trump's fans, as Melania Trump has always been nothing less than a class act.
