Michelle Obama says she and Barack don't talk before date nights
Former President Barack Obama and wife Michelle have repeatedly denied rumors of an impending divorce over the last year, and Michelle recently revealed one way that the two keep the romance in their relationship alive after 33 years of marriage--not talking.
We've been married 32, 33 [years]... I always forget. Sorry, honey,' she said during an interview with People.
It's comments like these that have people wondering about their relationship. She just doesn't seem to like him very much, and for having once been the leader of the free world, he seems very beta male in his own marriage.
Michelle said that the pair's favorite dates are low-key dinners at home rather than going out.
"We don't talk"
"When we're both happy about date night, we're at home. We are not getting dressed. We just have a nice dinner, candles lit, music, we talk," Michelle went on.
"We don't talk for the whole day, because we're in the house together all day, right? We work from home," she explained.
"So, when we are going to have a really special night, it's like, 'Don't talk to me. Save it for dinner.'
"He'll be like, 'Did you talk to the girls?' 'I did, but we're not going to talk about it until date night."'
Down on marriage
It makes sense, I guess. It's definitely possible for people who love each other to feel like they don't have a whole lot that's new to talk about when they've been together a long time.
I know conservatives like to mock the Obamas' relationship, but it can't be easy to be long-term married in a party that champions everything but long-term marriage.
If you're LGBTQ etc., Democrats think it's great.
If you want to have a throuple, or any other weird lifestyle, they're all for it.
Happily married for 33 years, not so much. So boring and cis, the left says.
It's obvious that Michelle only wants the spotlight to shine on her books, podcast, and other media efforts, not her personal life. Why people can't respect that and leave the Obamas alone, I really don't understand.
