For years, President Joe Biden claimed that he "never" spoke with his son Hunter Biden about the latter's business dealings in China.

However, the recent release of previously hidden photographs demonstrate that the president wasn't telling the truth.

National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) blocked release of photos

According to Breitbart, the images were taken during trips to China that Joe Biden took while serving as vice president under Barack Obama.

They were held by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), which refused to make them public until last week.

That move came as a result of a lawsuit filed by America First Legal, a conservative group founded by Trump White House adviser Stephen Miller.

"Lawyers and representatives for President Biden and President [Barack] Obama delayed NARA’s release of these photographs, as they did with other records, until after Election Day," America First Legal said in a statement.

One set of images involve Joe Biden and high ranking figures at Bohai Harvest RST (BHR), a Shanghai-based Chinese investment company which Hunter Biden helped to found.

Fox News noted that BHR helped another Chinese firm called China Molybdenum to buy cobalt and copper mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo from an American company five years earlier.

Cobalt is considered to be a strategically vital mineral which is used in the production of missiles and aerospace parts along with batteries for electric vehicles.

Fox News pointed out that then-White House press secretary Jen Psaki offered little in the way of insight regarding what role Hunter Biden played in the deal.

"He has been working to unwind his investment, but I would certainly point you — he's a private citizen. I would point you to him or his lawyers on the outside on any update," Psaki was quoted as saying of the president's son.

The images of BHR figures aren't the only ones to raise eyebrows, as another picture shows the then-vice president introducing his son to Chinese President Xi Jinping during an official visit to Beijing in 2013.

An additional photograph features Hunter Biden shaking hands with then-Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao next to his father.
