A survey aggregate maintained by Real Clear Politics gives Vice President Kamala Harris a 1.8% lead in the national popular vote.

Yet according to one expert, many Democrats have privately conceded that their candidate is facing a tough race.

Internal Democratic polls show Harris losing in Wisconsin

As Fox News reported, political analyst Mark Halperin made that claim during a Wednesday livestream on his media platform 2WAY.

"In the conversations I'm having with Trump people and Democrats with data, they are extremely bullish on Trump's chances in the last 48 hours. Extremely bullish," Fox News quoted Halperin as saying.

"Can you win a short campaign with an untested candidate? And what I’m telling you is happening in private polling is she's got a problem now," he continued.

The political analyst then pointed to a an article published the Wall Street Journal article which was published earlier this week.

It cited internal polling data compiled by Wisconsin Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin's campaign which showed the vice president trailing former President Donald Trump by three points in the Badger State.

"There's no path without Wisconsin," Halperin declared before adding, "We all said yesterday, Wisconsin and Michigan are looking worse for Harris than before."

Halperin: Some Democrats "can't handle the truth"

Fox News noted that Halperin later lectured Harris supporters who objected to him delivering bad news about their candidate.

"For you Harris people on here complaining that we’re talking about problems in the Harris campaign, you’re welcome to put your head in the sand about it," he said.

"If you want to go watch MSNBC primetime and hear how great things are going for the Harris campaign, you’re welcome. But if you want to understand what’s actually happening, we're here to tell you. I just saw some new private polling today, that’s very robust private polling, she’s in a lot of trouble," Halperin asserted.

Halperin reiterated his message in a video posted to social media on Thursday, saying, "There is a branch of the Democratic Party that I would say can't handle the truth."

"There are really no worried Republicans"

"I've made it clear, Harris can still win. Where the polls are now don't necessarily represent where things will end up," he continued before acknowledging that "Trump has a lot of problems."

"But the snapshot of where we are now is there are a lot of really worried Democrats and there are really no worried Republicans," the analyst went on to stress.
