A new poll reveals that a majority of Americans support the impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden.

The respondents were asked, “Do you support or oppose House Speaker Kevin McCarthy opening a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden?”

The findings

"Fifty-three percent supported the inquiry, while 47 percent opposed it. Among those who supported the inquiry were 49 percent of independents, 78 percent of Republicans, and 31 percent of Democrats," Breitbart News reported.

"The poll found that 60 percent of voters believe Joe Biden had direct and detailed knowledge of his son’s business dealings and that he made false or misleading statements about his son’s business dealings. Forty percent said Joe Biden did not have knowledge or made false statements," it continued.

Growing concern

"A new poll from Reuters/Ipsos found that a plurality of Americans support an impeachment inquiry into President Biden due to allegations of influence peddling and involvement in corrupt business dealings with his son, Hunter," Trending Politics reported about a previous Reuters poll taken last month.

"Some 41 percent of Americans said they supported the idea of opening an impeachment investigation into the president while just 35 percent said they were opposed. A significant number of respondents remain undecided, with 24 percent saying they were not sure," it added.

Many unaware

Despite the widespread agreement, a Navigator Research poll found that 46% of Americans knew little or nothing about the impeachment inquiry.

"A majority of Americans have heard about the impeachment inquiry into President Biden (55% aware), including 21% who have heard 'a lot.' Pluralities OPPOSE both the inquiry (49% oppose – 42% support) and impeaching Biden (50% should not – 41% should)," the organization noted.

The strong support against Biden comes as he continues to struggle in polls that agree he is too old to run for a second term.

Other polls continue to show former President Donald Trump in a near tie or even ahead of Biden nationally.

The impeachment inquiry is a concern for many Americans but Biden may be more worried about his reelection campaign in a likely Trump rematch.
