During the debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, the former president nailed Harris over her mishandling of the crisis at the southern U.S. border.

Harris and her ABC allies worked overtime to downplay Trump's comments about the border, which were numerous, but the gaslighting attempt from the Harris campaign seemingly failed, as a new poll revealed that most voters blame Harris for the issue.

According to Breitbart, a New York Times/Siena College poll revealed that Harris isn't looking so hot for voters on the southern border immigration issue.

The poll specifically asked how much "blame" is on the VP for letting the border situation spiral out of control.

What's going on?

While the Harris campaign was running on seemingly endless media praise for her debate performance against Trump, the numbers revealed a dose of reality in what voters are actually thinking.

"How much blame, if any, do you think Kamala Harris as sitting vice president should receive for … problems at the border,” the poll asked respondents.

A staggering 63% in total said that Harris should receive "a lot of blame" or "some blame" for the disastrous situation at the southern U.S. border.

Early on, the vice president was tasked by President Joe Biden to lead his administration’s effort in “stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border.”

As such, she was then known as the "border czar," even by many of her mainstream media allies.

But since then, and in the lead-up to the debate, Harris and her team -- and many top Democrats -- worked overtime to pretend that she never had that title or responsibility.

Numbers don't lie

Breitbart noted:

The poll shows the majority of likely voters are not convinced by Harris’s attempt to distance herself from the border. Only 16 percent of likely voters said Harris bears “no blame at all” for record illegal immigration over the last few years.

Overall, the poll showed that most voters, at 53%, trust Donald Trump on handling the border crisis while only 43% trust Harris.

A majority of swing voters also trust Harris, with 53% of them picking Trump over Harris to handle the situation.

Harris and her allies can continue to try to distance from the border disaster, but it's clear that Americans aren't as stupid and vulnerable as they'd like them to be on the issue.
