President Biden says Trump should be in prison just 14 days before the election

President Joe Biden had quite the slip of the tongue this week while rambling on and on about former President Donald Trump.

According to the Daily Mail, at a Kamala Harris campaign event in New Hampshire, just 14 days before the election, Biden told the small audience that he believes the former president should be thrown in jail.

The admission comes in the wake of widespread accusations by Trump and many others, including lawmakers, that Biden weaponized the Department of Justice against Trump with multiple indictments that could have landed him in prison.

The elderly, often-confused president was torched across social media for making the slip

What did he say?

Biden, who looked as though he needed a nap at the time, attempted to fire up the audience by going after Trump and saying he should be locked up, before quickly correcting his statement, almost as if he knew he messed up.

"We gotta lock him up," President Biden said.

He corrected himself, adding, "We need to politically lock him up. Lock him out. That's what we have to do."

The Daily Mail noted:

It comes after Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris takes care to try to shut down 'lock him up' chants that have popped up at her campaign rallies.

She routinely says to leave the matter up to the courts.

The former president's son, Donald Trump Jr., weighed in on Biden's slip-up, suggesting it was proof of the Biden administration's hope of interfering in the election by putting Donald Trump behind bars.

'They're not even hiding it. The lawfare against my dad was always about election interference!" DJT Jr. wrote in an X post.

Social media reacts

Users across social media blasted Biden for suggesting Trump should be thrown in prison.

"Used to be all about the best person wins on policies but now it’s jailing your political opponents, Russia is proud of what America has now become," one X user wrote.

Another x user wrote, "When Democrats finally tell the truth like Joe Biden just did, believe them."
