President finally acknowledges Hunter Biden's daughter as his grandchild
In a major reversal, President Joe Biden finally admitted this past week that he has a seventh grandchild.
According to The Hill, that admission came on Friday in a statement provided to People magazine regarding Navy Joan, the four-year-old girl that Hunter Biden fathered out of wedlock with former exotic dancer Lunden Roberts.
"This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter"
"Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward," the president's statement read.
"This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter. Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy," Biden went on to add.
Those comments represent a significant change, as the president previously insisted that he only has six grandchildren.
There's only three options here, none of which are good:
➡️Biden can't remember how many grandkids he actually has
➡️Biden knows and chooses to actively neglect his own grandchild
➡️Hunter hasn't told him/lied to him about the paternity test https://t.co/FIxCNTpIaB— Zach Parkinson (@AZachParkinson) April 27, 2023
What's more, Hunter Biden fought in court to prevent Navy from carrying his surname while First Lady Jill Biden did not put up a White House stocking for her last Christmas despite hanging stockings for the family pets.
Jonathan Turley calls the president's behavior a "monstrosity"
That led George Washington University Law School professor Jonathan Turley to go after the first family in an op-ed piece for Fox News.
OPINION: New low for Hunter Biden: Fighting to prevent daughter with ex-lover from using his last name https://t.co/ZfeJG2dzoh

"Not only has President Biden refused to refer to her as a grandchild or even include a Christmas stocking with the other children, her father Hunter is also fighting to prevent her from using the Biden name," Turley wrote.
As far as the legal scholar was concerned, such behavior had "moved this scandal from the realm of hypocrisy to monstrosity."
Legal scholar says Biden's move is politically motivated
Turley followed that up with another Fox News op-ed on Saturday following the president's acknowledgement of Navy Joan.
He suggested that Biden's move was likely motivated by "the disgust expressed even by Democrats that this is simply wrong."
"Of course, the president cannot go into his loving account of how his granddaughter is 'a talker' and playful (like his German Shepherd) because he has never bothered to meet her," Turley pointed out.
