Rep. Green gets into dispute with Laura Loomer

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has taken exception to something recently said by Republican journalist Laura Loomer.

The surprising bit about all of this is that both Greene and Loomer are big-time Trump supporters.

The Daily Mail reports:

The full-on attack from MAGA-loyalist Greene came after Trump advisor Loomer traveled with Trump on his plane to the debate in Philadelphia where Trump forwarded a conspiracy theory about migrants eating pets that had some prognosticators saying the performance did grievous harm to his campaign.

Before going any further, it is probably worth noting that the Daily Mail leans heavily to the left.

"The White House will smell like curry"

This is the statement that Loomer made that Greene took exception to. Loomer's post is no longer available before it has been deemed to have violated X's rules against Hateful Conduct.

Greene responded:

This is appalling and extremely racist. It does not represent who we are as Republicans or MAGA. This does not represent President Trump. This type of behavior should not be tolerated ever.

This has led to a back-and-forth between Greene and Loomer.

Loomer, for example, claimed:

Additionally, MTG attacked me the same time Marc Elias was brought on the represent Brad Raffensperger and at the same time Judge Merchan’s daughter’s company hired Marc Elias. This is reeking of coordination. I have been told MTG made a deal with the Dems to avoid being indicted. This is why she coordinated her attacks on me.

Greene, on the other hand, has dubbed Loomer a liar.

Trump weighs in

Former President Donald Trump has released a statement on the matter.

"Laura Loomer doesn't work for the campaign. She's a private citizen and longtime supporter. I disagree with the statements she made but, like the many millions of people who support me, she is tired of watching the Radical Left Marxists and Fascists violently attack and smear me, even to the point of doing anything to stop their Political Opponent, ME!" he wrote.

Trump added: "I am now in California, which Democrats like Comrade Kamala Harris and Governor Gavin Newscum have completely DESTROYED. I will turn it all around and, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! -DJT"

Laura, for her part, has said that she was only joking when she made the comment about how the White House might smell if Harris were to win.

We'll have to see how the situation is going to play out.
