Robert F. Kennedy Jr. allegedly had an affair on his wife, Cheryl Hines. 

According to the New York Post, the alleged affair was with New York magazine political reporter Olivia Nuzzi.

Nuzzi has been placed on leave by the magazine.

Kennedy, for his part, has yet to release a public statement on the matter.

Here's what we know:

According to sources quoted by the Post, the affair got out because neither the 70-year-old Kennedy nor the 31-year-old Nuzzi were "being particularly careful" about keeping it a secret.

"They weren’t being particularly careful. There’s a reason New York mag found out," the source told the outlet.

The Post goes on to report:

Nuzzi was placed on leave from the magazine after “she had engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while she was reporting on the campaign, a violation of the magazine’s standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures,” the publication said Thursday. Other sources also told The Post that the top brass at New York Magazine were already aware of the relationship and that they confronted Nuzzi, despite reports that she had come clean to editors.

A lot of the details have yet to be confirmed because no one, at the time of this writing, has made a public comment about the situation. The closest statement we have is from Nuzzi, who earlier this year, admitted, "the nature of some communications between myself and a former reporting subject turned personal."

The big question is what exactly the affair consisted of.

Was it physical?

Thus far, it appears that the answer to this question is "no," the affair was not physical.

According to the Post, the two have been "sexting." Nuzzi has confirmed that she and Kennedy were never physical.

Although Kennedy has yet to comment on the matter, a spokesperson has. The spokesperson claimed that Kennedy only met Nuzzi "once in his life for an interview she requested, which yielded a hit piece."

In other words, it appears that, for now, Kennedy is denying the alleged affair.

Suffice it to say that there are a lot of questions about this whole situation that remain unanswered. Also, one cannot discard the possibility that the alleged affair was concocted to harm Kennedy, now that he has teamed up with former President Donald Trump. It is old news by now that anyone associated with Trump will ruthlessly be attacked by the left.
