Senate Democrats attempt to push through leftist judicial nominees

Democrats in the U.S. Senate are using this period to try to put radical leftist judges on the federal courts.

This is according to a new report from the New York Post

Per the outlet:

Senate Democrats are hustling to confirm far-left federal judges before the end of the 118th Congress next month, even after making a “handshake agreement” with Republicans to relinquish four appeals court appointments to President-elect Donald Trump.

The question that many are asking is why Senate Republicans are allowing this to happen.

Here is what's going on:

Few powers are more important than the president's power to nominate judges for the federal courts. These judges, as we often see, have a big effect on the direction that the country takes.

It is for this reason that President Joe Biden and Senate Democrats are currently trying to push through as many leftist judges as they can before the Trump administration takes over.

Politico reports:

Senate Democrats confirmed the Biden administration’s 220th lifetime appointment to the federal judiciary on Wednesday — and are poised to add to that total as they wind down their time in Washington before Thanksgiving.

The Post reports, "While not setting any records, the number of Biden appointees joining the federal judiciary is rapidly approaching the 245 confirmed under Trump, 78 — all of whom will serve for as long as they wish, barring impeachment and removal."

Trump has called for Republicans to "hold the line," but they have been failing to do so.

Trump charges Dems with stacking the courts

In a recent message, Trump wrote:

"The Democrats are trying to stack the Courts with Radical Left Judges on their way out the door. Republican Senators need to Show Up and Hold the Line — No more Judges confirmed before Inauguration Day!

Republicans, however, have not been doing so. Fox News reports:

Republicans have fought several of [Biden's] nominees on grounds that they are too left-wing, but a number of Biden's appointments were confirmed after GOP senators missed votes.

These Republican senators are facing serious criticism.

Fox separately reported:

Senate Republicans faced criticism over several vote absences this week that allowed Democrats to confirm judges or agree to end debate on nominees that otherwise could have been blocked if each of the missing GOP lawmakers were there.

It sure does make one wonder whose interests the Republican members of the Senate are protecting. It certainly does not appear as if they are protecting the interests of those who put them in office.
