Some believe Pete Hegseth's Pentagon book helped him land SecDef nomination
President-elect Donald Trump shocked Washington D.C. and the entire country over the weekend when he announced that he will nominate Fox News host Pete Hegseth, also a member other of the Army National Guard, to be his Secretary of Defense.
According to the New York Post, some believe Hegseth's book on the "woke" practices within the Pentagon are what contributed to Hegseth landing the coveted and honorable appointment.
The "Fox & Friends" co-host is a staunch, open supporter of Trump's and has spent considerable time blasting currently military leadership for focusing on DEI-related initiatives instead of ensuring America is ready to face their adversaries at any time.
Hegseth's military background is impressive, to say the least. He served tours in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay and earned countless awards and honors throughout his military career.
What's going on?
In his book, "The War on Warriors," which explains why military recruiting under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris is at an all-time low, Hegseth holds nothing back as far as what he believes should change.
"For the past three years — after President Barack Obama poured the social justice foundation — the Pentagon, across all branches, has embraced the social justice message of gender equality, racial diversity, climate stupidity, and the LGBTQA+ alphabet soup in their recruiting pushes," Hegseth, an Army Infantry officer, wrote.
Hegseth slammed the military's recruiting ads that focus on LGBTQA+ individuals and not on the core makeup of who would usually be recruited.
"Only one problem: There just aren’t enough lesbians from San Francisco who want to join the 82nd Airborne. Not only do the lesbians not join, but those very same ads turn off the young, patriotic, Christian men who have traditionally filled our ranks," his book reads.
Let's set the record straight about @PeteHegseth, Trump's choice for Secretary of Defense. The left is quick to mock this choice, calling him just a "Fox News anchor," but there's more to it:
- He's still an active member of the Army National Guard, holding the rank of Major.

In Trump's announcement regarding his nomination of Hegseth, he called him "tough, smart and a true believer in America First."
Social media reacts
While the left has mocked Trump for picking Hegseth, those who are familiar with his military background weren't surprised.
"As another veteran, I agree with you 1,000% . The Biden DEI policies are such an embarrassment. @PeteHegseth is a great pick! We will regain our status the greatest military might in the world!!!" one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "Amen to that !We have seen the "leadership" given to us by the present administration, and it is LACKING IN SO MANY WAYS! We need to get the defense of this country back on track. Pete Hegseth is the man to do it."
It's about time we have a SecDef who has walked the walk and will not tolerate what has happened to our glorious military under the woke Biden-Harris regime.
