Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MN) is a staunchly anti-Israel congresswoman and, as a result, has many allies who feel the same.

According to Fox News, a well-known anti-Israel activist who has donated to the Minnesota progressive on several occasions made a disgusting statement about the recent killing of a top Hamas leader.

Described as a "disgraced former Women's March leader" and the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in San Francisco, Zahra Billoo made a shocking statement about the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, saying his "martyrdom is not in vain."

Her remarks came in the wake of the targeted assassination of Haniyeh in Tehran earlier this week.

What's going on?

Billoo's statement, uploaded to social media, stirred plenty of controversy.

"Never say that those martyred in the cause of Allah are dead—in fact, they are alive! But you do not perceive it," she wrote.

She added, "Tonight, we mourn Ismail himself but know his martyrdom is not in vain. From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free."

The last part of the post, "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," is a highly controversial phrase used by anti-Israel protesters.

Fox News noted:

Billoo, who has donated almost $1,000 to multiple Tlaib campaigns, has been a lightning rod of controversy in recent years over her anti-Israel rhetoric, which led to the left-wing Women's March board severing ties with her in 2019 after only serving two days. She posted a 25-post Twitter thread at the time blaming her ouster on an "Islamophobic smear campaign" and "right-wingers."

Users across social media had plenty to say about her disgusting post

"They celebrate a terrorist who demanded the sacrifice of women and children. Sick, they shouldn’t be allowed to be an organization," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "These are the type of people that want you to either convert or die period. They are invaders, terrorists, and terrorist supporters and as such should be held accountable for their vile nature."

Even with the extreme backlash, Tlaib, unsurprisingly, came to her donor's defense, writing in a post, "#FreePalestine always sis! They won't silence us for speaking out against human rights violations."
