In the wake of the second attempt on former President Donald Trump's life, many are highlighting the dangerous rhetoric coming from his critics on the left and blaming it for the number of lunatics attempting to secure infamy in the history books.

According to the New York Post, violent, anti-Trump rhetoric has been spewed at the highest levels, including from Vice President Kamala Harris, and critics have dug up old footage of remarks she made about Trump that has many raising their eyebrows.

Her remarks about the death of Trump in a hypothetical situation came via a 2018 interview with TV host Ellen DeGeneres.

The clip is especially damning in the wake of the second assassination attempt on Trump.

What did she say?

In the early 2018 interview, DeGeneres asked then-Senator Harris, "If you had to be stuck on an elevator with either President Trump, [Vice President] Mike Pence or [Attorney General] Jeff Sessions, who would it be?"

Harris, with a serious look on her face before breaking out into her trademark, annoying cackle, said, "Does one of us have to come out alive?"

Not surprisingly, Harris' answer drew applause and laughter from the audience.

In the lead-up to the 2020 election, the Trump campaign re-posted the footage on X, formerly known as Twitter, noting the violent rhetoric coming from Harris that seems to always be disguised as a joke.

The Post noted:

“WATCH: Kamala Harris jokes about killing President Trump and Mike Pence,” read the Aug. 13, 2020, post on Twitter, now X, which was recirculated months later by Fox News host Sean Hannity.

Social media reacts

Users across social media once again posted the disgusting footage in the wake of the golf course incident over the weekend.

"Kamala Harris openly joked about assassinating President Trump in 2018 as an audience of lobotomized clapping seals cheered. And you’re wondering how we ended up here?" conservative influencer Benny Johnson wrote on X.

Another X user wrote, "Democrats promote violence and they always have."

The clip with Harris is one of many high-profile Democrats making similar "jokes" or remarks. It has to stop before the worst case scenario ends in disaster.
