The use of public funds to "incentivize or support" unlawful immigration will now be prohibited, according to Trump's new executive order.

Late Wednesday night, President Trump issued an executive order halting the utilization of government funds to support illegal immigration and immigrants, as Fox News reported.

This executive order was issued by the Trump administration with the stated purpose of making sure that "taxpayer resources are used to protect the interests of American citizens, not illegal aliens."

Order Details

The order mandates that all federal departments and agencies identify and terminate any and all programs that receive funding from the federal government and provide financial benefits to illegal aliens.

Additionally, it seeks to guarantee that "sanctuary" laws are not supported by public monies from the federal government.

"My Administration will uphold the rule of law, defend against the waste of hard-earned taxpayer resources, and protect benefits for American citizens in need, including individuals with disabilities and veterans," the order states.

"President Trump is committed to safeguarding Federal public benefits for American citizens who are truly in need, including individuals with disabilities and veterans," a White House fact sheet on the executive order said.

Immigration Problem

The U.S. House Homeland Security Committee estimates that illegal immigration has cost American taxpayers $451 billion in care for illegal aliens and gotaways since January 2021.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform estimated that taxpayers have spent at least $182 billion yearly on 20 million illegal aliens and their children, according to the presidential order. This includes $66.5 billion in federal expenses and $115.6 billion in state and local expenses.

The Center for Immigration Studies released a study indicating that one million illegal aliens could cost taxpayers as much as $3 billion annually in welfare programs, which are prohibited by the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996.

Problem Complications

Unfortunately, parolees who are already in the country illegally are considered "qualified aliens" for welfare purposes, which opens the door to a variety of benefits and, within five years, full eligibility.

In addition, Trump's government has criticized Biden and his administration for "enabling" illegal immigration and providing funding to enable crime.

Using an estimate from the Congressional Budget Office, the executive order claimed that more than $16.2 billion had been spent by federal and state taxpayers on emergency services for illegal immigrants through Medicaid, all as a result of Biden's open borders agenda.

"The Biden Administration gave billions in taxpayer dollars to left-wing groups that facilitated mass illegal migration and provided legal services to challenge deportation orders," the fact sheet said.
