Trump-Harris debate moderator suggests link between Trump and KKK in interview

The ABC News anchor who is scheduled to moderate a debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris on September 10th linked him to the KKK during an interview with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) Monday night at the Democrat National Convention.

"As you know, former President Donald Trump is expected to go campaign in Howell, Michigan, tomorrow. Many people are aware that a month ago, in Howell, KKK protesters marched in the streets with the white robes on and suggested that they support Donald Trump. I’m curious if you make anything about that connection and him going in particularly to Howell tomorrow," Linsey Davis asked Whitmer.

Whitmer responded, "Well, you know, anyone who’s doing a little bit of research might have said, ‘That’s really a bad idea, look at the optics.’ You’re showing up where the KKK was just at the same time you’re in Michigan."

She added, "I mean, this is, I think, a troubling strategy that we see from the other side to divide us and to scare us and to stoke fear and anger. And contrast to what we are going to see all week, this is a gathering of joyful, happy warriors. We are rolling up our sleeves, we’re doing the work, we take no one and no vote for granted."

Tired talking point

The question and Whitmer's comments must be an encouraged talking point from Democrats since Harris's Michigan communications director Alyssa Bradley said basically the same thing about the Trump event.

"The racists and White supremacists who marched in Trump’s name last month in Howell have all watched him praise Hitler, defend neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, and tell far-right extremists to ‘stand back and stand by.’ Trump’s actions have encouraged them, and Michiganders can expect more of the same when he comes to town next week," Bradley said.

It's a tired talking point, but they just can't stop using it anyway.

Never mind that President Joe Biden went to Howell himself in 2021 when he was promoting "Build Back Better."

She should be replaced

Trump should demand that Davis be replaced as debate moderator after that line of questioning.

She practically led Whitmer to slam Trump the way she did, and she tried to reinforce a ridiculous line of reasoning that was always disingenuous.

If a debate moderator can be that biased, she has no business trying to pretend she will be fair during the debate.

Of course, Harris has managed to avoid having Fox News moderate a presidential debate, and every other news outlet will be biased just like ABC News.

It's been proven over and over again.

Then again, Harris is going to need all the help she can get. No doubt Trump is going to wipe the floor with her just like he did with Biden, and then we'll see how the polls look.
