President-Elect Donald Trump has just made history with his selection for the next White House press secretary.

The pick, according to Fox News, is Karoline Leavitt, whom you may have seen on television advocating for Trump in recent years.

What makes this pick historic is that Leavitt, according to the outlet, will be the youngest White House Press Secretary ever.

Per the outlet, "Leavitt, 27, will be the youngest White House press secretary in U.S. history, unseating Nixon administration press secretary Ron Ziegler, who was 29 when he served in the role from 1969-1974."

Trump makes his pick

Trump announced his selection of Leavitt for the press secretary position this past week.

The press release states:

Today, the 45th and 47th President of the Untied States Donald J. Trump announced that Karoline Leavitt wills erve as White House Press Secretary. Karoine was the Trump Campaign National Press Secretary and previously served in the Trump White House as Assistant Press Secretary.

The statement then goes on to provide a direct quote from Trump.

"Karoline Leavitt did a phenomenal job as the National Press Secretary on my Historic Campaign, and I am pleased to announce she will serve as White House Press Secretary," he said.

Trump added, "Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator. I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium, and help deliver our message to the American People as we, Make America Great Again."

She's in

Leavitt has released a statement in response to Trump's nomination of her, writing, "Thank you, President Trump, for believing in me. I am humbled and honored. Let's MAGA!"

Trump's previous White House Press Secretaries were Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Kayleigh McEnany.

There was much speculation about whom Trump would choose would choose this time around. There were even some rumors that he was thinking about choosing his attorney Alina Habba. Habba, herself, though recently squashed those rumors.

The Biden administration's two press secretaries were Karine Jean-Pierre and Jen Psaki. The administration, in general, has faced significant scrutiny for its lack of transparency with the press.

There is little doubt that this situation will be completely flipped during the upcoming Trump administration. Trump was one of the most transparent presidents ever during his first administration. He continued this during the past four years, and there is every reason to believe he will continue to be transparent over the next four years.
