This past weekend saw the U.S. military launch a strike in Somalia that reportedly killed a senior ISIS figure along with some of his associates.

News of the attack was accompanied by still images from a video of planes taking off along with a blunt message from President Donald Trump.

Bombing raid targeted ISIS terrorists hiding out in Somalia Golis mountains

According to the Daily Caller, those pictures appeared in a social media post put up by U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) on Saturday.

"In coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia, U.S. Africa Command conducted airstrikes against ISIS-Somalia on Feb. 1, 2025," AFRICOM's post explained.

Newly confirmed Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also weighed in with a statement explaining that the action had been directed towards "ISIS-Somalia operatives in the Golis mountains."

Defense secretary says no civilians were killed in the attack

"Our initial assessment is that multiple operatives were killed in the airstrikes and no civilians were harmed," the Defense secretary continued.

Hegseth went on to add that the airstrike "further degrades ISIS's ability to plot and conduct terrorist attacks" while sending "a clear signal that the United States always stands ready to find and eliminate terrorists."

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump put out a statement of his own on X in which he threatened more of the same for other terror groups.

"This morning I ordered precision Military air strikes on the Senior ISIS Attack Planner and other terrorists he recruited and led in Somalia," Trump declared.

"These killers, who we found hiding in caves, threatened the United States and our Allies," he stressed before adding that the bombing "destroyed the caves they live in" but avoided civilian casualties.

Trump to terrorists: "WE WILL FIND YOU, AND WE WILL KILL YOU"

"Our Military has targeted this ISIS Attack Planner for years, but Biden and his cronies wouldn’t act quickly enough to get the job done. I did!" Trump went on to add.

The president concluded by saying, "The message to ISIS and all others who would attack Americans is that 'WE WILL FIND YOU, AND WE WILL KILL YOU!'"

Saturday's airstrike came roughly a month after ISIS-inspired terrorist Shamsud-Din Jabbar murdered 14 people in New Orleans on New Year's Eve.
