Was it a ghost? Secret Service ends White House cocaine probe with no suspect

The person who left cocaine at the White House has vanished without a trace. At least, that is the official conclusion of Secret Service following a brief investigation.

The agency announced Thursday it will end its probe without identifying a suspect, saying there were no fingerprints or DNA traces left behind that they could use to track the culprit.

The inconclusive finding has led to incredulous reactions - and outrage over a perceived politicization of government agencies to protect the Biden family.

White House cocaine probe over

President Trump was among those who weighed in with a skeptical reaction.

"Despite all of the cameras pointing directly at the ‘scene of the crime,’ and the greatest forensics anywhere in the World, they just can’t figure it out? They know the answer, and so does everyone else," he wrote.

Republicans who had requested a Thursday briefing from Secret Service echoed Trump's suggestion of a cover-up.

“There is no equal justice,” House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (CA) said. “Anything revolving around ‘Biden, Inc.’ gets treated different than any other American and that’s got to stop.”

Suspect vanished!

For days, government officials had emphasized the cocaine was found in a "heavily trafficked" area open to guests - as if to prepare the public for the probe's mysterious conclusion.

The Secret Service said it narrowed down a list of hundreds of possible suspects, but the investigation couldn't progress further without hard evidence. Lab analysis failed to turn up fingerprints or DNA, and amazingly, surveillance cameras were of no help, either.

"There was no surveillance video footage found that provided investigative leads or any other means for investigators to identify who may have deposited the found substance in this area," the Secret Service said.

"At this time, the Secret Service's investigation is closed due to a lack of physical evidence," they said.

So much for that "alibi"...

Biden's defenders dismissed the possibility that his son - a notorious crack abuser with a penchant for leaving things where they don't belong - was involved because the Bidens were not at the White House when the drugs were found over the July Fourth weekend.

But Jamie Raskin (MD), a Democrat who received the Secret Service briefing, said the agents don't know when the drugs actually got there.

“It could have been that day, it could’ve been a week before, it could’ve been months before,” he said.

Forget Secret Service: it sounds like the White House needs to give the Ghostbusters a call.
