Barack Obama became the object of intense interest in 2008, with one Australian newspaper even examining his life as a little boy growing up in Indonesia.

While the Obama name has once again been making headlines, they're now focused on rumors about the former president's wife.

Bad polls for Biden have eyes turning to Mrs. Obama

A growing number of observers are saying that former First Lady Michelle Obama could replace President Joe Biden as the Democratic Party's nominee next year.

Biden suffers from abysmal approval ratings, with a CNN poll published last month showing that only 39% of Americans approve of how he is handling his job as president.

It found that only 24% believe Biden's policies have improved the economy compared with 58% who say his policies have made it worse.

Only 28% say the president inspires confidence and just 26% feel Biden possesses enough stamina and sharpness to serve in the White House.

What may be most troubling for Biden is that a mere 33% of those within his own party want him to be their nominee in 2024.

Ted Cruz: Obama candidacy would be "most dangerous"

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz has suggested that those weaknesses have the potential to create an opening for Mrs. Obama.

"Here's the scenario that I think is perhaps the most likely and most dangerous," Cruz told listeners of his podcast "Verdict with Ted Cruz."

"In August of 2024, the Democrat kingmakers [will] jettison Joe Biden and parachute in Michelle Obama," he explained, adding, "I view this as a very serious danger."

"This is the Obamas coming in and saving the day," he declared, adding, "And I think in terms of a solution that unifies Democrats, there ain't nothing like that."

Columnist says Obama would have unique advantages

Meanwhile, Washington Times columnist Cheryl K. Chumley wrote in a September article that Mrs. Obama would be "a president worse for America then Joe Biden"

What's more, Chumley argued that she would enjoy advantages that Biden doesn't have, saying, "She’d have not just the race card to throw. She’d have the gender card."

"Think of how the Democrats would accuse anyone who opposed her Barack-like brand of globalism and anti-Americanism; think of how the fawners in the media would rush to her defense," the columnist maintained.
