Former President Donald Trump is known for taking a tough stance on China, recently accusing it of having "screwed" America on trade.

That opposition stands in sharp contrast to the position taken by one of Vice President Kamala Harris' key backers.

U.S. Black Chambers' head met with Chinese Communist Party officials

Entrepreneur Ron Busby Sr. serves as president and CEO of the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. (USBC), an organization which describes itself as being "the national voice of black business."

According to a report released by Fox Business on Wednesday, Busby has visited the White House "dozens of times" since President Joe Biden took office.

What's more, the network also stated that Busby "met with several [Chinese Communist Party] officials during a previously unreported trip to China."

Those meetings occurred when Busby joined a 2017 delegation of New York government officials and business leaders, which was dubbed "The New Majority Alliance."

Chinese consulate general named in federal indictment

That junket consisted of a 10-day tour of Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi'an which was supported by the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York.

The consulate general was later named in an unsealed Department of Justice indictment against former top aide to New York Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul.

"The delegation will meet with government leaders and representatives of the business community in China to have discussions over the topics including Sino-US technological innovation, business development, friendship agreements and other projects," a 2017 press release stated.

It touted the trip as an opportunity "to build communication channels and networks for Chinese companies who are looking for development in the United States."

Harris has hailed Busby as "an extraordinary leader"

The delegation also met with the People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, an entity which then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned in 2020 "has sought to directly and malignly influence state and local leaders to promote the PRC’s global agenda."

Fox Business quoted Busby as telling Chinese officials that he was "willing to share and communicate the resources with Xi'an in various fields."

The network noted that Busby has been hailed by the vice president as "an extraordinary leader." What's more, he attended an "exclusive reception" at her private residence in July.
