Since leaving office nearly four years ago, former Attorney General Bill Barr has become known for his sharp criticism of former President Donald Trump.

Yet despite the bad blood, Barr won't be voting for President Joe Biden, something he recently said would be akin to "suicide."

Barr says leftists are "the real threat to liberty"

According to Breitbart, Barr made the declaration during a Wednesday appearance on Fox News' "America's Newsroom."

"The real threat to liberty, the real threat to our system, are the excesses of the progressive left," Breitbart quoted Barr as telling "America's Newsroom" co-host Bill Hemmer.

"They are perverting the system of justice and that’s where the danger lies. The corruption and subversion of our institutions by the left," the former attorney general continued.

When Hammer asked if Barr will cast his ballot for Trump this November, the former attorney general was unequivocal in his answer.

"I will vote the Republican ticket"

"I’ve said all along given two bad choices, I think it's my duty to pick the person I think would do the least harm to the country and in my mind that's — I will vote the Republican ticket. I will support the Republican ticket," Barr declared.

"I think the real danger to the country, the real danger to democracy, as I say, is the progressive agenda and I've said Trump may be playing Russian roulette, but continuation of the Biden administration is national suicide in my opinion," he added.

Those weren't the only words of support that Barr offered to Trump, as he also condemned charges brought in New York by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

"This case is an abomination," Barr said of the hush-money prosecution before adding that the case is "obviously political."

Barr accuses Democrats of "perverting the system of justice"

"It's also, as you say, it's not only far-fetched… they're trying to predicate it on a federal crime which wasn't prosecuted," the former attorney general pointed out. "And they're wrong about it. This was not a campaign contribution. They're just wrong on the law."

"But to me, this shows that the real threat to liberty, the real threat to our system, are the excesses of the progressive left," Barr asserted.

"They're perverting the system of justice, and… that's where the danger lies. The corruption and subversion of our institutions by the left," he complained.

" A free people [claim] their rights, as derived from the laws of nature."
