Former President Donald Trump discussed his criminal conviction during an interview last week with television personality Dr. Phil McGraw.

Newsweek noted that while Trump remained defiant, the former president acknowledged that things have been difficult for his son Barron.

"It's not easy," Trump told McGraw when the host asked whether there has been "blowback" on Barron since the guilty verdict.

"He's a great kid—he's a good student, he got accepted to different colleges. Some of those colleges all of a sudden, they're rioting all over the place," the presumptive Republican nominee pointed out.

"But he's a good boy. He's a tall boy, very tall, and he's a great kid. Good-looking kid. And, you know, he's going to be at college," Trump continued.

Former president says trial has been "tougher on my family"

"But he doesn't say it, and I think he doesn't say it because he doesn't want to hurt me, and he thinks it's possibly a hurtful conversation," the former president admitted.

"But it has to affect my family, and I think that's really very unfair," Trump stressed. "Because I have a very good family; I have good kids, I have a wonderful wife."

"I mean, it's not easy for her to read this kind of stuff that's fake... But that's the way it is. It certainly is not a good thing. It affects me more than it would if it were just about me—I wish it would be just about me," he insisted.

The White House contender went on to insist that his ongoing legal troubles have been "tougher on my family than it is on me."

TikToker who claims to be Barron's ex-girlfriend, calls him "the best"

His father is not alone in voicing praise for Barron, as the Irish Star reported last week that a young woman claiming to be his former girlfriend recently did so as well.

A TikToker user known as Maddie declared in a video that the younger Trump was her first boyfriend while both were attending the Columbia Grammar school.

"I went to school with Barron Trump, and he was my first bf. "When Trump was elected he brought the entire class to the White House," she said while featuring a photo from the trip.

Maddie described Barron as "the best" when asked by a commenter as to whether he was a good person and added that he provided her first kiss.
