U.S. Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) just blasted Vice President Kamala Harris for suggesting that he is in any way disloyal to America.

The New York Post reports that Vance did so on Saturday.

Vance, of course, is the man whom former President Donald Trump has selected to be his running mate in the 2024 presidential election. The two men appeared alongside each other at a campaign event that was held in St. Cloud, Minnesota, on Saturday.

Before we get to that, though, we will quickly catch you up to speed regarding what Harris said about Vance.

Vance Disloyal?

The Democrats have been doing their best to gang up on Vance ever since word got around that Vance could be Trump's running mate. Harris recently joined the attacks, after becoming he Democratic Party's presumptive presidential nominee for the 2024 election.

On July 16, according to Fox News, Harris posted a 45-second video to YouTube in which she claimed that Vance, as vice president, would only be loyal to Trump - not to the country.

"Donald Trump has picked his new running mate: J.D. Vance. Trump looked for someone he knew would be a rubber stamp for his extreme agenda," Harris says in the video.

She added, "Make no mistake: J.D. Vance will be loyal only to Trump, not to our country."

Harris went on to claim that Vance, in contrast to former Vice President Mike Pence, "would have carried out Trump's plan to overturn the 2020 election." And, she finished by trying to claim that Vance will help Trump to implement Project 2025 (a right-wing group that Turmp has completely separated himself from).

Vance responds

Given his background, Vance, during his speech, argued that it was absurd that Harris was questioning his loyalty to America.

"Now, I saw the other day Kamala Harris questioned my loyalty to this country. That’s the word she used; loyalty. And it’s an interesting word. Semper Fi: loyalty, because there is no greater sign of disloyalty to this country than what Kamala Harris has done at our southern border," Vance said.

He continued, "And I’d like to ask the vice president, what has she done to question my loyalty to this country? I served in the United States Marine Corps. I went to Iraq for this country. I built a business for this country. And my running mate took a bullet for this country."

"So my question to Kamala Harris is, what the hell have you done to question our loyalty to the United States of America?" Vance asked.

Newsweek reports that this response from Vance has gone viral, getting more than 5 million views in a matter of days.
