The contingent of far-left Democratic politicians known as "the Squad" suffered a blow in June when New York Rep. Jamaal Bowman was defeated in a primary race.

More problems emerged this week in the form of a lawsuit charging that some Squad members helped to incite illegal protests at Columbia University.

"The Gaza Encampment was extreme and outrageous conduct"

According to Fox News, the lawsuit was filed by five anonymous Columbia students and it names Bowman along with Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, and New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

"The Gaza Encampment was extreme and outrageous conduct. It was illegal," Fox News quoted the lawsuit as stating in its complaint.

"It violated university rules. Its occupants harassed, followed, physically blocked, intimidated, and bullied Jewish students," the lawsuit continues.

"Those were real damages sustained by the 36,000 students at Columbia who chose to obey university rules, go to class, and pursue their education, only to be frustrated at the finish line by the … acts of their classmates and professors, with the assistance and encouragement of outside activists,"  it goes on to say.

Jewish student recalled being confronted on campus

The three Democratic lawmakers are accused of joining with anti-Israel groups to help to encourage the illegal campus takeover.

One of the plaintiffs spoke with the New York Post, and he explained, "During the protests, I witnessed numerous offensive and antisemitic signs and messages, including antisemitic skunk posters with the Star of David."

"In one instance, I was walking with my non-Jewish friends when I was singled out because I was wearing my yarmulke," he recalled.

"A leader of the pro-Palestinian protest approached our group and confronted me. He singled me out, yelling that I needed to move, and when I refused, he began to shove me out of the way," the plaintiff went on to state.

Omar's daughter was arrested on campus

The Post noted that Omar's daughter, 21-year-old Isra Hirsi, was taken into custody at the Columbia encampment in April for trespassing.

Capt. Jaclyn Keane serves as executive officer of the NYPD's Legal Bureau, and she was quoted as telling reporters, "Yes, [Rep. Omar’s] daughter was arrested. She was also summoned for trespassing. She will be getting a summons."

Hirsi further explained on social media that she had been suspended from Barnard College over her participation in the encampment.
