President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took a major blow regarding their aggressive, radical push to transition Americans to electric vehicles.

According to JustTheNews, the Republican-led House this week passed a resolution that blocks the new tailpipe emission standards handed down from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from taking effect.

The bill, which passed 215--191 votes, received support from no less than eight Democrats, making the situation even more embarrassing for the Biden-Harris administration and their whacky fantasies of making American drivers get behind the EV push.

The new emissions rule was set by the EPA in April, and would result in such a major disruption in the automobile market that it's referred to as the EV mandate.

What's going on?

In the wake of the announcement of the rule by Biden's EPA, Rep. John James (R-MI), introduced the Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution in May as a way to block the new EPA regulation.

James, representing his constituents in the auto manufacturing epicenter of the country, noted that such changes would "crater" the industry and added that hard-working people in his district can't afford pricey EVs.

"The Biden-Harris Administration’s EPA tailpipe emission rule is another out-of-touch regulation that will crater the Michigan auto industry and decimate our middle-class, and most vulnerable. Folks in my district simply can’t afford to spend an additional $12,000 on an expensive, unreliable EV," James said.

The GOP-led House was encouraged to pass the resolution after an impressive coalition of 28 organizations urged them to do so in a recent letter.

“This rule on tailpipe emissions standards is a massive overreach, using a novel application of EPA motor vehicle authorities in an attempt to force a transition in the motor vehicles market to products that align with the ideological preferences of the Biden administration," the letter read.

JustTheNews noted:

The coalition includes national and state-based free-market organizations, trade associations, consumer and taxpayer protection groups, and grassroots organizations.

Republicans praised

The House Republicans who passed the resolution this week were praised by many, including Tom Pyle, president of the AEA.

"Today, the House told them no. Since becoming her party’s nominee, Vice President Harris has tried to walk back her long standing support of EV mandates," Pyle said.

He added, "If she truly wants to show the American people that she has changed her stance, and that she cares about their freedoms, now is the time for her to call on her former colleagues in the Senate to vote on this resolution."

Only time will tell if the resolution makes it through the Senate.
