Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee, is a weird individual who gets strangely excited about odd things, which some voters find rather off-putting.

During a recent interview, Harris displayed that strangeness as she spoke at length of her odd "obsession" with Venn diagrams, the Daily Mail reported.

Her admission of an obsession with Venn diagrams should come as no surprise, given that she has often made mention of the diagrams that typically feature overlapping circles that highlight the various similarities and differences between multiple items.

Harris admits her "obsession with Venn diagrams"

Earlier this week, VP Harris sat down for an interview with author and researcher Brene Brown for her "Unlocking Us" podcast, which was focused on the subjects of "courageous leadership and winning" in 2024.

At one point, the discussion turned to coalition building and collaborative leadership, and Harris said, "My lived experience is to know that the vast majority of us have more in common than what separates us. And, okay -- so Gen Z and others will kind of, they’ve got this whole meme about me and my, dare I say, obsession with Venn diagrams."

"I love Venn diagrams -- I love -- I love Venn diagrams," she continued while laughing. "Like, if you’re faced with conflict, pull out a Venn diagram."

Venn diagram helped her goddaughter organize for college

Harris shared a story of using a Venn diagram to help her goddaughter organize her academic and social schedules during her first year in college, and told Brown with a laugh, "That Venn diagram had about 11 circles on it though."

"And I was like, 'Okay, we’re going to going to figure out where’s the intersection and then let’s figure out where you’re going to fit into it.' I literally still have this Venn diagram," she continued.

"But I just think that if we work toward coalition building, we are stronger as a society. I just know it," Harris added. "And I know that when you bring together seemingly different people and you bring people around a table you can watch. And it’s so exciting. You watch how the silos break down. And everyone leaves a bit taller."

Not the first time she's obsessed over her love of Venn diagrams

The Daily Mail noted that this was far from the first time that VP Harris has spoken of her admitted "obsession" with using Venn diagrams as a visual aid to help solve problems, as it is something she has mentioned frequently -- and been mocked for -- over the past few years.

One example came in 2023 at a climate change conference, when Harris said, "Think of the movement through the lens of something I love, which is to always think about complex issues through the frame of a Venn diagram. I love Venn diagrams. I do. I love Venn diagrams!" and added with a laugh, "So, the three circles -- and you can do more! Nobody says a Venn diagram has to only be three circles, right?"

Another example came in 2022, when she spoke publicly about instructing her staffers to create a Venn diagram for her of states that were restricting abortion and voting rights, and shared that she'd discovered that "There are 10 states that are doing both."

Harris "cringe" obsession with Venn diagrams

VP Harris' acknowledged "obsession" with Venn diagrams was deemed "cringe"-worthy in 2022 by the Republican National Committee, which produced a compilation video of her laughing maniacally while discussing the diagrams of overlapping circles to highlight how strange she is on the weird topic.
