Biden will NOT be pardoning himself: report

President Joe Biden claims that, in this last week of his administration, he will not be issuing any preemptive pardon for himself.

Biden, according to Breitbart News, made the claim during a recent White House press conference, saying that he would not pardon himself because he did not do anything wrong.

This comes after Biden has issued a number of controversial pardons, including - most notably - the pardon that he issue for his son, Hunter Biden.

"I have no contemplation of..."

During the press conference, a reporter asked Biden, "Have you ruled out a pardon for yourself or any other additional members of the family?"

Biden, with an incredulous look, responded, "For myself? What would I pardon myself for?"

The reporter then jumped back in, saying, "That's what I'm asking."

Biden, then, answered the questions point blank, saying, "No, I have no contemplation of pardoning myself for anything. I didn’t do anything wrong."

We'll have to see if Biden, in the final days of his administration, abides by what he says here. Remember that, for months, both he and the White House claimed that he would not pardon Hunter, yet this is exactly what he did.

A big question...

There are numerous big questions about what Biden may or may not do in the final days of his administration. There are also big questions about what President-Elect Donald Trump is going to do once he takes over.

For Biden, one of the big questions is whether he is going to issue any more controversial pardons, such as by preemptively pardoning some of Trump's so-called enemies. The jury is still out on this one. Biden says that he is still considering it.

For Trump, one of the big questions is whether he will use the Department of Justice (DOJ) to go after those who have wronged him by weaponizing the legal system against him. There is a question, for example, as to whether the Trump DOJ will investigate Biden and his family.

This particular investigation would seem unlikely. It is less clear whether Trump's DOJ might look into others.

Trump, for his part, has made it clear that he is most interested in fixing this country. And, regarding potential prosecutions, he said that he is going to leave this up to the DOJ, which, if confirmed, will be led by Pam Bondi.
