President-Elect Donald Trump is getting ready to make some big changes to the U.S. Department of State.

Specifically, Fox News reports that it is looking to shake things up by removing and replacing some key personnel.

What's more, is that Trump is looking to do this immediately upon entering the White House. He is not, in other words, going to sit around and wait for his nominees to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.

What this means is that we should see action fast once Trump gets into the Oval Office.

"Trump will IMMEDIATELY..."

Trump, according to Fox, is ready to take action on day one of his administration.

Per the outlet:

A source familiar with the situation tells Fox News that the new Trump administration will immediately move new officials into key operational roles at the State Department to ensure the department is carrying out the Trump foreign policy agenda from day one.

Fox goes on to report that, "normally, career State Department officials will oversee these key positions while political appointees await Senate confirmation." Trump, however, has different plans.

"The Trump team is bringing in dozens of 'senior bureau officials' to ensure the career employees have Trump-aligned officials over them. The source says the transition has already identified the senior bureau officials who will be taking over," Fox reports.

It adds, "The source also says this move affects more than 20 additional key roles at State."

Resign, now!

An earlier report from Fox revealed that Trump is already asking "three senior career diplomats to step down from their roles." This is interesting for several reasons, including the fact that, "unlike political appointees, diplomats do not typically resign when a president leaves office."

The outlet wrote:

President-elect Trump’s transition team has reportedly asked three senior career diplomats to step down from their roles, according to Reuters. Dereck Hogan, Marcia Bernicat, and Alaina Teplitz, the career diplomats who were allegedly asked to leave their roles, oversee the State Department’s workforce and internal coordination.

Fox added, "This request could signal the Trump team’s desire to implement major changes within the department."

Now, this latest report from Fox would suggest that Trump is indeed looking "to implement major changes" and quickly.

Fox reports:

. . . Trump officials have already asked others to step aside, bringing a total of about 30 senior positions affected by this initiative. They include all of those working as undersecretaries and overseeing key regional, policy and communications bureaus.
