The head of President Trump's task force on government secrets believes "two shooters" were involved in John F. Kennedy's assassination.

Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) shared the shocking claim as she teased a new investigation into one of the most scrutinized events in U.S. history.

"I believe that there were two shooters, and we should be finding more information as we are able to," she said.

Two shooters?

A 2023 Gallup poll found that two-thirds of Americans believe Kennedy was murdered as part of a conspiracy, despite the Warren Commission's conclusion that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone.

Kennedy was shot while riding in his motorcade through Dallas, Texas in November 1963. The horrific murder, which was captured on film by a bystander, has been the source of countless theories over the decades. One of the most common conspiracies claims that a second gunman shot at Kennedy from the "grassy knoll" in front of the motorcade.

Luna echoed critics of the Warren Commission, who have often questioned the claim that a single "magic bullet" pierced Kennedy's neck and caused all of the wounds to Texas Governor John Connally.

"Based on what I’ve been seeing so far, the initial hearing that was actually held here in Congress was actually faulty in the single-bullet theory,” Luna said.

Search for the truth

The FBI has uncovered 2,400 records about the assassination after President Trump ordered all files about the killings of Kennedy, his brother Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King, Jr to be declassified.

The declassification push has raised fresh hope that the truth about Kennedy's murder will finally come to light.

"In previous investigations, they didn't have access to the information that we are going to have access to, and so that's a big deal, especially if you're looking at what truly happened with JFK," Luna said.

“We will work alongside President Trump and his cabinet members to deliver truth to the American people,” Luna said. “From this moment forward, we will restore trust through transparency.”

Luna's task force will hold its first hearing in March, with possible witnesses including attending physicians who treated the president, she said.

"There's people that have been publicly out there, for example, in the JFK stuff that were actually present in the room, at the operating room, where he was actually brought to right after the shooting," Luna said.

"So we hope to bring those people in to testify. And again, these hearings will be open to the public."
