AirBnB owner's mountain home trashed by notorious Venezuelan gang
While Donald Trump has been accused of exaggerating the threat of criminal migrants, the danger is very real for Americans all across the country.
An Airbnb host from Colorado is sharing her harrowing experience of having her rental property completely trashed by a Venezuelan gang.
Police believe that as many as 100 people tied to the Tren De Aragua gang packed into the quiet mountain retreat in Evergreen, west of Denver.
Gang trashed beautiful home
The owner, Karen Martiz, rented the place out last weekend, not expecting her home to become a crime scene.
But neighbors said they heard gunshots during the party - and when Martiz returned, she found hundreds of bottles, baggies with pink powder, and gum stuck to the carpet, walls, and ceiling.
"It was a horrible scene. When I walked into my house, I couldn't believe I was actually living this. Because until you live it, you are like, ‘Is this even something that could happen to people?’" she told Fox News.
The repairs will cost $16,000 and Martiz is facing lost income while her rental property is fixed up.
"We're not going to be able to rent our property for about a month until we get everything fixed. That means that we're not going to have guests in our house and, definitely, this is something that helps us pay our bills, our mortgage… keeps on being able to afford this beautiful home that is the home that I plan to retire on, so it's a very difficult situation because it puts me really in a financial strain," she said.
No exaggeration... Trump was right!
The gang behind the destruction, Tren De Aragua, has grabbed national attention for violently occupying apartment blocks in nearby Aurora, Colorado.
President Trump has drawn attention to migrant crime to warn about the consequences of Kamala Harris' open border policy.
Martiz said Trump is telling the truth about what's really happening around the country, and it needs to stop now.
"Absolutely no exaggeration at all," she replied. "This is very real and this should be taken very seriously. These people are not here to do good.
"They have nothing to lose. They don't care. They're just coming in, destroying properties, people's lives like nothing. Something needs to happen… This needs to stop. 100%, as soon as possible."
