President Donald Trump -- with the help of Elon Musk and DOGE -- have taken a wrecking ball to Washington D.C. and the dirty, establishment swamp way of doing things.

While Trump has a broad range of executive powers that allow him to make such moves, his kryptonite is showing its face in an ugly way -- the federal judiciary.

According to CBS News, a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to "to reinstate funding for foreign aid contracts and other awards" while lawsuits surrounding the situation continue to move forward through the court system.

Federal judges seemingly have virtually unchecked power and many believe that the federal judiciary is forming a resistance to stop Trump's agenda, since it's pretty much the only entity that has the authority to intervene.

What happened?

The situation developed in the wake of Trump and his Department of Government Efficiency -- led by Musk -- shutting down USAID, an organization that many believe is as corrupt and wasteful as any agency can be.

U.S. District Judge Amir Ali granted a temporary restraining order against the Trump administration -- specifically its actions involving cutting of certain funding to various organizations.

CBS News noted:

The nonprofit organizations argued that Mr. Trump's directive and a subsequent memorandum from Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued late last month, which temporarily stopped new obligations of funding for foreign assistance programs and called for stop-work orders, was an unlawful and unconstitutional exercise of executive power.

Lawyers for one group of challengers, led by the Global Health Council, wrote in a court filing their argument against the Trump administration shutting down USAID.

"One cannot overstate the impact of that unlawful course of conduct: on businesses large and small forced to shut down their programs and let employees go; on hungry children across the globe who will go without; on populations around the world facing deadly disease; and on our constitutional order," the court filing read.

As are most federal judges currently interfering with Trump's agenda, Judge Ali was appointed by President Joe Biden.

Request "too broad"

The judge granted the temporary restraining order to the organizations, but noted that their request was too broad in scope.

Here, the stated purpose in implementing the suspension of all foreign aid is to provide the opportunity to review programs for their efficiency and consistency with priorities," Ali wrote.

"However, at least to date, Defendants have not offered any explanation for why a blanket suspension of all congressionally appropriated foreign aid, which set off a shockwave and upended reliance interests for thousands of agreements with businesses, nonprofits, and organizations around the country, was a rational precursor to reviewing programs."

The Trump administration, through the Justice Department, is fighting every case like this tooth and nail, and hopefully, they will win more than not.
