Biden's physician met with neurological disease expert

We now know that President Joe Biden's personal doctor at the White House has met with a neurological expert.

The meetup, according to the New York Postwhich broke this story - occurred back in January 2023.

The outlet obtained this information from White House visitor logs.

The logs show that Biden's doctor - Dr. Kevin O'Connor - met with Dr. Kevin Cannard - a Parkinson’s disease expert.

Background

This report comes following Biden's poor performance at the recently held first presidential debate. Biden's performance was so poor that it has left many Americans - on both sides of the aisle - asking whether Biden has the mental capacity to lead the country, let alone the mental capacity to pursue a second term.

There have been calls for Biden to undergo a cognitive exam, even from members of the left - such as CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta, a world-renowned neurologist.

Here is what Gupta said after the debate:

From a neurological standpoint, we were concerned with his confused rambling; sudden loss of concentration in the middle of a sentence; halting speech and absence of facial animation, resulting at times in a flat, open-mouthed expression. To be clear, these are only observations, not in any way diagnostic of something deeper, and none of these doctors wished to suggest that was the case.

Despite the bipartisan calls for him to undergo a cognitive/neurological examination, Biden continues to refuse to do so. The most recent refusal came during his ABC interview.

It now appears, however, that there are also concerns from within the White House about Biden's mental condition.

The meetup with the Parkinson's expert

The Post reports, "Cannard is an authority on Parkinson’s who has worked at Walter Reed for nearly 20 years. Since 2012, he has served as the 'neurology specialist supporting the White House Medical Unit,' according to his LinkedIn."

For those unfamiliar with Parkinson's, here is what the National Institute of Aging says about it:

Parkinson’s disease is a brain disorder that causes unintended or uncontrollable movements, such as shaking, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination. Symptoms usually begin gradually and worsen over time. As the disease progresses, people may have difficulty walking and talking. They may also have mental and behavioral changes, sleep problems, depression, memory difficulties, and fatigue.

The Post goes on to report that Cannard's "most recent paper was published in August 2023 in the journal Parkinsonism & Related Disorders, and focuses on the 'early-stage' of the crippling disease."

This does not mean, of course, that Biden has Parkinson's. In fact, O'Connor, in February, gave Biden a clean bill of health.

The big question, however, is whether O'Connor and the rest of the White House are being honest about Biden's health. The debate performance is what has suggested that they have not been.
