A former business associate of Hunter Biden's told House impeachment investigators that China "infiltrated" the White House by developing ties with then-vice president Joe Biden. 

Tony Bobulinski, a former Navy officer who worked with Hunter Biden on a Chinese deal, described Joe Biden as "the brand" being sold to foreign governments around the world.

“The Chinese Communist Party through its surrogate, China Energy Company Limited, or ‘CEFC’ — a CCP-linked Chinese energy conglomerate — successfully sought to infiltrate and compromise Joe Biden and the Obama-Biden White House," he said.

Hunter Biden witness testifies

Millions of dollars flowed to Hunter Biden and his uncle James Biden through CEFC China Energy, a now-bankrupt conglomerate with ties to the regime in Beijing.

In 2017, Bobulinski was part of a venture with Hunter Biden and CEFC called SinoHawk Holdings. He has long identified Biden as "the big guy" referenced in a notorious Hunter Biden e-mail, and Bobulinski says he met with Joe Biden himself to discuss business in Los Angeles in 2017.

Bobulinski testified to the House on Tuesday as part of the impeachment inquiry into President Biden.

He said that CEFC began cultivating ties to Hunter Biden while his father was still vice president in 2015 and that Joe Biden did nothing to discourage this relationship.

“Joe Biden was aware of the CEFC transaction, enabled it and had a constitutional responsibility and obligation to the American people to shut it down before it began,” he said.

"Plausible deniability"

Bobulinski also said that Biden sought to hide his close involvement with a layer of "plausible deniability."

“It is clear to me that Joe Biden was ‘the Brand’ being sold by the Biden family," Bobulinski said.

Devon Archer, Hunter's former friend and close business partner, similarly described Joe Biden as the "brand" for his family's dealings in closed-door testimony last year.

Democrats were later caught putting words in Archer's mouth when the transcript was released. 

Republicans have said they will release the transcript of Bobulinski's testimony, which Democrats have dismissed as a nothingburger.

Democrat Jamie Raskin (Md.) said Bobulinski only proved that Biden had "high-level awareness" of his son's business ventures.

Biden has spent years claiming to have no knowledge of his son's business deals, despite mounting evidence to the contrary.
