Counter-sniper team was allegedly in the building that the Trump shooter perched from: Report

The attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump continues to raise more questions than most ever could have imagined at this point.

Rightfully so, many are questioning how the U.S. Secret Service let the shooter get onto the building where he perched and nearly killed the former president, while killing an innocent bystander in the process.

According to the Daily Mail, a counter-sniper team was reportedly staged inside of the building that Trump's shooter eventually climbed and opened fire some 26 minutes later.

The bombshell report has many scratching their heads and wondering how one of the most elite law enforcement agencies in the world could have possibly missed the socially awkward young adult who shot Trump climbed on top of the building in the first place.

It gets worse

Even worse is the fact that the shooter was spotted by local law enforcement and even photographed prior to the shooting because he was acting weird, yet those law enforcement agents did nothing about it.

The shooter even pointed his AR15-style rifle at one of the local law enforcement officers who spotted him.

The outlet noted:

The local Pennsylvania sheriff defended the police officer who confronted Crooks on the roof moments before the shooting.

Butler County Sheriff Michael Slupe confirmed on Monday that one of his armed officers encountered the gunman seconds before he unleashed carnage on the former president's rally.

The cop, who has not been named, retreated when Crooks pointed his AR-style rifle at him.

"All I know is the officer had both hands on the roof to get up on the roof, never made it because the shooter had turned towards the officer, and rightfully and smartly, the officer let go," the sheriff said.

He added, "I mean, people think the officers are supermen like you hold on the roof with one hand while you are hanging on for dear life and pull a gun out. It doesn't work that way."

In addition to the early encounters with Michael Crooks, the alleged shooter, a number of MAGA rally attendees spotted him on the roof of the building, which was only about 130 yards from Trump's position.

Videos on social media show the attendees attempting to call attention to Crooks before he opened fire, yet law enforcement was painfully too slow to react.

Calls for resignation

Many have already called on Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to be the first to resign in what appears to be a massive security failure that nearly cost Trump his life.

But earlier this week, she outright refused to do so.

Many believe that the pressure will be too much to overcome and she'll be out of a job by week's end. Only time will tell.
