The former senator from Massachusetts and 2014 Republican Senate nominee in New Hampshire, is making another political move.

The longtime politician later served as the U.S. ambassador to New Zealand during the first administration of President-elect Trump, and is currently contemplating a 2026 congressional campaign, as Fox News reported.

It is possible that Brown may launch a campaign in the coming months, which would result in a high-profile rematch with Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen.

This would be a Senate battle that is expected to be competitive and expensive, and it would take place in a state that is considered to be a critical swing state.

In Brown's Own Words

"Well, that's really up to him," Brown said. "I'm hearing from his potential transition folks there may be something they may want me to do"

Brown revealed that he would be interested in taking on a new role in the current White House when he was asked about the nature of the role that he might want to take on.

"I'd be lying if I said I didn't think I could do a good job on the border. Homeland security. I was in the military for 39 years," Brown said.

What About Homeland

Brown responded that he did not see anything at this point in time when he was asked about the potential of becoming the Secretary of Homeland Security.

He referred to any talk related to this topic as "premature," in an interview before the 2024 election: "We tend in our party and quite frankly, other parties, to kind of mess things up before it's over. I mean, look at the Red Sox and the Yankees, the Patriots and the Falcons."

"They're already celebrating. But, you know, we still have a long way to go," Brown said.

His tune turned rather quickly after the 2024 election, in what was not an unexpected show of support for the new Republican party leader.

About the VP

Brown, when asked about J.D. Vance, the nominee for vice president, acknowledged that he saw a little of himself in the United States Senator from Ohio:

"He's a self-made person, similar to me. Rags to you know, for his riches," Brown said.

In spite of the criticism that Democrats have leveled against Vance, Brown continues to voice support for the recently elected VP nominee.

"Dems are always going to criticize, as being too extreme. That's what they do. Who cares. It's up to the voters," Brown said.

Democratic Violence

In addition, Brown voiced his concern regarding the recent attempt on Trump's life through assault.

"It's unacceptable," Brown said. "That type of thing should not happen. There's a complete breakdown on the perimeter and also with the people who were supposed to be watching him."

"You gotta answer these questions immediately. You can't let it linger," Brown said.
