Former White House doctor on Biden: He’s not ‘mentally fit’ to be president

President Joe Biden has become notorious for making verbal missteps at nearly every speech and press conference, and at times even appearing to fall asleep during official events, as one would expect a nearly 80-year-old man to do.

Those observations have caused many to speculate that the president has entered into a state of age-based cognitive decline. According to The Daily Wire, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), a former White House physician who served multiple presidents, said Biden is no longer “mentally fit” to hold the office.

Jackson’s diagnosis came during a podcast interview with fellow Republican Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN).

“Not mentally fit”

Jackson, who served as a White House physician under former Presidents Bush, Obama, and Trump, said, “All I know is that he’s got age-related cognitive decline, right. He is not mentally fit right now.”

“He’s 78 years old and you can see it,” Jackson explained.” You don’t need to be a physician to look at him and to look at his behavior and some of the other stuff, just the way he shuffles away, stares off into space.”

“I know what that job entails, both physically and mentally, and how demanding it is. And I can tell you right now, I’m 100% sure that Joe Biden is incapable of doing that job,” the doctor and Republican lawmaker continued.

The Daily Wire noted that this is not the first time that Jackson has called attention to evidence Biden is suffering from a noticeable level of cognitive deficit.

“That was embarrassing,” Jackson tweeted in August following one of Biden’s speeches. “There is something so obviously wrong with Biden’s cognitive fitness it was hard to watch. He should NOT remain President for another SECOND. We deserve better – MUCH better.”

Obama’s “scathing” letter

While speaking with Banks, Jackson claimed that he once received a “scathing” email from Obama concerning Jackson’s criticism of Biden’s cognitive health.

“He just tore me up,” the congressman explained.

“An entire page about how disappointed he was in me and how it’s beneath me as a physician and beneath me as an officer in the military to be attacking Joe Biden like this,” Jackson said.

“And it was a betrayal of the trust that he and his administration put in me and he was so disappointed in me and yada, yada.” Jackson went on to call the experience “unbelievable.”
