Elected officials, more often than not Democrats, are quick to flaunt their positions in attempts to get out of trouble, especially during police stops.

That was on full display this week after bodycam footage of an Illinois Democratic official was released that showed her belligerently attempting to get out of an alleged DUI offense by telling the police officers who she was and acting way more important than she actually is.

According to Fox News, Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Samantha Steele, 45, was arrested on a DUI charge earlier this month, and bodycam footage of the arrest has recently gone viral.

At the time of her arrest, she was found lying on the ground next to two damaged vehicles, according to police reports.

What happened?

At the time of the arrest, Steele not only admitted to striking the other car, but she was also found with a bottle of opened red wine on the floor of her vehicle.

"I observed her eyes were bloodshot and glassy," an officer wrote in the report obtained by Fox32 Chicago. "I also detected a strong odor of [an] alcoholic beverage coming from her breath as she spoke."

Steele then got herself in even more trouble by reportedly making crude comments to one of the male officers involved in the arrest, commenting on his genitalia.

Steele was reportedly combative with the officers as far as complying with their demands to ext the vehicle, and her next response was all too predictable.

"If you don't exit the vehicle, I'm going to help you to exit," a cop is heard saying in the bodycam footage. "And you don't want that."

"You don't want that," Steele replied. "I'm an elected official."

Humiliating video

Partial footage of the encounter was released and quickly went viral.

"Trying to get out of a DUI saying you're a county commissioner... She should be removed from office," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Rules for thee but not me. The Dem way!!!"
