James Clapper says he has no regrets about pushing Hunter Biden laptop hoax

James Clapper, the former director of national intelligence for the Obama administration, says that he has no regrets about pushing the Hunter Biden laptop hoax.

Clapper, according to Fox News, said as much during a recent interview with Fox News Digital.

You, the reader, will likely remember the Hunter Biden laptop hoax that occurred in the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election. That is when Democrats and the mainstream media tried to claim that a report from the New York Post detailing some of the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop were "Russian disinformation."

We now know, of course, that the laptop and its contents were not "Russian disinformation," rather they were legitimate information.

The latest on the laptop

The most recent proof we have that Hunter Biden's laptop and its contents are legitimate came during Biden's ongoing criminal trial, the one in which he has been charged with lying on a form to obtain a firearm.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has actually entered the laptop into evidence for the trial, meaning that they are going to use it as proof to support their case against Hunter Biden.

Not only that, but the authenticity of the laptop has been verified, before the court, by a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent.

So, any notion that the laptop is "Russian disinformation" has been completely obliterated.

This, in turn, has placed renewed scrutiny on those individuals who pushed the "Russian disinformation" hoax.

Enter James Clapper

You will likely remember that the "Russian disinformation" hoax was pushed by 51 U.S. intelligence officials, who signed a letter claiming that Hunter Biden's laptop was "Russian disinformation." They signed on to the letter despite the fact that, when they did so, U.S. intelligence already knew the laptop was authentic.

It just so happens that Clapper was one of those 51 individuals. This is why Fox, given the fact that the laptop is now being used as evidence at Hunter Biden's trial, asked Clapper whether he regrets signing on to the letter.

Clapper, as stated at the outset, said "no," that he has no regrets.

What Clapper didn't do was fill in the blank regarding why he has no regrets. Polls have also shown us that, if the American public knew the truth about that laptop - that it really did belong to Hunter Biden - Joe Biden would have lost a significant percentage of votes and, possibly, the 2020 presidential election.

Each of us has to make our own judgment here, but it seems likely that Clapper has no regrets about signing on to the letter because the letter did its job - it stopped Trump from becoming president.
